Mounis Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Hi guys,Apologies for asking perhaps a regular question but I have just bought a 1.9TDI 130BHP version x-reg Galaxy. Lovely car, full service history, 70k miles documented with one owner BUT it's missing and only firing on 3 cylinders. Very rough and engine bounces about all over the pace. Took it to an independant who claimes its an injector @ Quote
mumof4 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 If you have just bought it..then surely it has a warranty???..i would speak to the place/person you bought it from and see what they say.. Welcome to the mad house..lol Quote
chromedome Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I didn't think that 130BHP was available at the date of your vehicle. Quote
jkspoff Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I believe, but may be wrong, that the only engine variants from that time were 90bhp or 115bhp. Anyway, it does sound like it could possibly be the injector, however there are several other things it could be also, I am sure others will suggest a few, sounds like an expensive line of diagnosing it. Does it not show up anything on VAG COM ? Quote
Guest yzfr1boy Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 had once in at our garage once and it turned out to be the flywheel so it had to have its gearbox and clutch removed and a new flywheel put on ,once out the flywheel was out , upon inspection was seized up a common problem acording to the diesel specialist who diagnosed the fault, most cars have a solid type flywheel but they have a dual construction with 2 or 3 metals joined together and some sensor picks up the firing positions from there so if its seized its in the wrong place causing a missfire Quote
Guest Galaxy Owner Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Hi i have a galaxy 1.9TDI 115BHP, Car working fine up to Dual Flywheel recall about a month after new flywheel fitted, broke down in France (Couldn't get car to turnover and was dead) (First Long run in car) :) . Took to local Ford Garage (Where they couldn't get it to turnover, until they changed the battery) and they have stated that the engine is misfiring on Cylinder 2 and are telling me that this is nothing to do with the Flywheel change (I have my doubts), anyone know the possible cause (badly fitted Flywheel or Design)? Please help? cheers Engine Mileage: 27000, 03 Plate Quote
